Enter The Other Side if you dare with Atmosfear: The Harbingers, the infamous interactive VHS board game from Mattel. Originally released in 1995, this atmospheric horror-themed game combines traditional board game mechanics with a VHS video hosted by the terrifying Gatekeeper, creating a time-limited experience where the game itself actively challenges the players.

Players take on the roles of the six Harbingers and race around a modular board made up of six interchangeable Provinces. The aim is to collect six differently coloured Keystones before making it back home and attempting to stop the clock. Along the way, players must deal with Fate cards, Duel cards, Gates, Black Holes and the unpredictable instructions of the Gatekeeper.

The VHS tape is an integral part of the experience rather than simply an accompanying extra. The Gatekeeper controls the pace of the game, issuing commands, penalties and challenges while the clock counts down. Players must also confront their own worst fears as part of the final attempt to win, making Atmosfear: The Harbingers a particularly memorable example of 1990s interactive board gaming.

Designed for 3–6 players aged 12 and over, games can run for up to approximately 60 minutes. With its combination of horror, strategy, dice rolling and interactive video, it remains an unusual and highly nostalgic addition to a vintage board game collection.

Fantastic, very well stored condition. Contents generally remain sealed and unused. The box has minor signs of storage wear but remains intact and very solid. The VHS cassette shows no visible signs of mould within the reels.
